Country Fare, our congregation’s largest fundraiser, is rapidly approaching. ALL members and friends of Good Shepherd are invited and encouraged to participate. Between August 30 and September 12, our church will be abuzz with activity regarding Country Fare. The Country Fare event has been held since the founding of our church and is at the heart of our community outreach program. Proceeds from the Country Fare are donated to area charitable organizations which feed the hungry, house the homeless, and comfort the abused as Jesus has called us to do.

Country Fare depends on your contributions! All donations are tax deductible. We will accept gently used and clean merchandise and clothing. We will accept furniture and other large items, but please see the drop off schedule. FLAT screen tv’s or computer monitors will be accepted. We will NOT accept TVs and Computers that are not flat screen. We also cannot accept furniture that needs to be put together, or is in disrepair or broken.

Our success also depends on the sharing of your time. We need people to help a little or a lot between August 30 (set up at 2:00) and Saturday, September 12 at 4:00 (clean up). In addition, donations will be needed for the bakery. Quiche, cupcakes and whole cakes and pies are big sellers. Details will follow in weekly bulletins or contact Pam Roman with any questions. Donations for the bakery are due by Thursday, September 10.

Drop Off Dates for merchandise (no large items yet) and clothing are:

• Monday, August 31 thru Saturday, September 5 from 9:00 a.m. to noon
  
• Monday, September 6 and Tuesday, September 7 from 9:00 a.m. to noon
  

Furniture and large/heavy items only will be accepted on:

• Wednesday, September 9 from 9:00 to noon and
  
• Thursday September 10 from 9:00 to noon
  

VOLUNTEERS are the lifeblood of Country Fare. It takes an army to make Country Fare work. Everyone is invited to participate. If you are new to Good Shepherd this is an excellent opportunity to get to know us and to let us get to know you. The fun begins on Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. when we will set up the tables. The following Monday, we will start receiving and sorting items. We need help …setting up tables…baking and serving food…being parking attendants…sorting and pricing…working the sale and cashiers… cleaning up…and we need people to donate merchandise and we need …shoppers.
