Ministries
In the book of Ephesians, Paul writes, “Each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” The gifts he gave were “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God.”
We believe that all Christians continue to be equipped with talents, skills and spiritual gifts that are to be used for the building up of the body of Christ. As we do this, we find that we are fulfilling the mission of the church, “restoring all people to unity with God and with each other.” - Father John Rice
The buttons on the left will lead you to nearly 50 ministries that do the work of the body of Christ at Good Shepherd. Each listing includes a short description of what they do and a contact person or persons. See also the Vestry listing for the vestry member who serves as liaison for all the ministries under each category.
The church office can provide you with the Good Shepherd Ministry Handbook from which this information is extracted. The handbook is a tool to use for understanding the various ministries offered at Good Shepherd and to use in the process of discerning the ministry or ministries that God might be calling you to, based upon the gifts that you have been given. Note that each ministry has a short description of what they do, a contact person, and the gifts most needed for effective ministry in this area. If you want more information about a certain ministry, please call the contact person provided.
