Blood Drive

Good Shepherd hosts a yearly blood drive.  Volunteers help load and unload the bus, greet donors, serve refreshments after blood donation, and bring cookies to give to donors.  The ministry calls potential donors and assigns them appointment times to fulfill our quota of units of blood.

Country Fare
Pam Roman

Our main and largest outreach fundraising project each year.  Includes a fashion show luncheon, an auction, a huge Flea Market and a Clothing Boutique plus much more.  All proceeds go to local charities!

DeSoto Square

A low-income apartment complex for the elderly or handicapped.  Two parishioners from Good Shepherd serve on the board of Directors at all times.  You can help encourage and enliven their lives by participating in sponsored social events at Christmas and April Fools Day.

Food Pantries

The Clay County Food Pantry has been in operation for over 15 years and had its beginnings right here in the undercroft at Good Shepherd.  The Towns County Food Pantry opened in 2008.  Both Food Pantries provide needed food for many local families each week and need volunteers.

House-Raising Volunteers
Fred King

Builds new homes for qualified low income families with children in Clay and Cherokee Counties.

A Board of Directors oversees the operation.  Committees include Family Selection, Family Nurture, Volunteer Coordination, and Construction.

Meals for Friends

Good Shepherd parishioners deliver meals to the disabled and elderly via three routes every Tuesday from the Senior Center.  Please sign up in the Parish Hall.

Missions

This ministry provides help to people in need.  They make periodic visits to our sister parish in Durgapur, India to spread the healing & medical ministries.

Outreach Committee
Paul Jordan

Provides oversight for many church Outreach functions (local, national, and international).  Investigates and makes recommendation to Vestry concerning allocation of Outreach funds.  Schedules events designed to generate interest and funds.
