Christmas Care 2018

Good Shepherd is again partnering with the Hinton Center in Christmas Care of Clay County, a vital program that provides clothing for children in need. Last year over 400 children were provided coats, shoes, school clothes and other items.

Christmas Care takes donations that allow parents to shop for their children’s needs or have a volunteer shop for them. Walmart in Murphy provides designated shopping days and parents are given a $60.00 allowance that can only be used for clothing for their children. If parents are unable to shop themselves, a Christmas Care volunteer shops for them.

Alternately, donors may sponsor a child. Donors are given a specific child with needs and sizes and are asked to return the gifts to the Hinton Center in early December.

Good Shepherd is taking donations throughout Advent for Christmas Care. You can make your donations to Good Shepherd with Christmas Care on the memo line. Or, if you would like to sponsor a child, you may contact Rev. Dawn Livingston of the Hinton Center at 828-389-8663 or missions@hintoncenter.org.
