Exercise is an important factor in our mental and physical health and wellness. All exercise classes at Good Shepherd are open to the community and most are free of charge. This is a ministry of stewardship, outreach, and healing. All classes meet in the Parish Hall.

Gail Criss
The Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9a.m. exercise class starts the hour with aerobic movement, then stretching and working with free weights, resistance exercise bands and balance and yoga poses. It typically has 10-15 particpants per session.
chair yoga
Rachel Baughn
The chair yoga class meets at 10a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and follows the audio from Tatis Cervantes-Aiken. It is a gentle but thorough routine with about 15 minutes of standing poses.
tai chi
Karen Goff
This class meets Monday at 10:30a.m. Class consists of warm ups, breath work, tapping and learning the form. The form is a variation of the Yang Style short form. Benefits include strengthening the body, focusing the mind, better balance and coordination. $5 suggested donation.
moving meditation
Also led by Karen Goff, Wednesdays at 10:30, this class promotes calm in body and mind using Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi. It promotes flexibility and balance, enhanced circulation, improved strength and posture and more. $5 suggested donation.
combo class
Friday’s class begins with Qigong Shibashi calming exercise followed by Tai Chi forms. $5 suggested donation or $10 for all three classes.

Mondays 10a.m. Rachel and Lois Ann Wentzel meet at the VFW memorial to walk to Spikebuck Mound and anyone is welcome to join. Once the bridge on Ledford Chapel road is repaired, we will resume walking at the dam.
