Founders Day Dinner

All Good Shepherd parishioners are invited to celebrate our Founders Day with a cook-out on Saturday, September 17, in the Parish Hall beginning at 5:00 pm with food served at 5:30 sharp!

Parish Life will provide burgers, dogs, beer and wine, and you are asked to bring a side dish.  Please sign up on the Parish Life board in the hallway so we can plan.  Holy Smokers and Friends will be the grill-masters!

Guest speaker, Dr. Jan Davidson, Director of the John C. Campbell Folk School, will speak at 6:00 pm. Jan’s family dates back 6 generations in Clay and Cherokee Counties.  He has been director of the Folk School for 26 years and his vision has guided the school through significant growth to become the leading craft and arts school in the country.  Each year the Folk School has a total of about 6,000 students in classes that range from blacksmithing to mountain music, many types of fiber art, woodworking, cooking, painting, jewelry and this is just a partial list.  Jan will speak on the history of the school and its impact on both students and community.

Good Shepherd was organized as a mission congregation on September 9, 1955, so we celebrate our Founders!
