In a joyous Celebration of New Ministry on Sunday, September 29, the new Rector of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hayesville, Father Bill Breedlove, was inducted. Bishop Porter Taylor of the Diocese of Western North Carolina, performed the induction service, preached the homily, and also welcomed 12 candidates for confirmation, reception, or reaffirmation. Close to 300 people, including family members and friends of Father Bill and the 12 new members, attended the service and enjoyed a bountiful reception afterward in the Parish Hall.

Since Father Bill began serving as Rector of Good Shepherd on June 16, church pews have been full with enthusiastic parishioners and visitors. His friendliness, sense of humor, and ability to relate the Gospel message to the challenges of everyday life have infused the parish of about 250 members with a renewed sense of the Holy Spirit.
